Borough Market Magazine- Celebration of cheese

Cheese-OPT01

Cheese-OPT02

I was recently commissioned by Borough Market Magazine to help them promote their 'Evening of Cheese' on the 10th of December. I was very lucky as the design team asked me to pitch them an concept for the image. It's very unusual to have such creative control over a commissioned image like this. As I have slight OCD I decided to play around with the idea of organisation, and this ended up been the basis for my idea. I ended up supplying the client with 2 images in the end. One was published as the centre fold for the magazine, and the other they turned into the invite.

Thanks to everyone at Borough Market magazine- Ellie, Kate & Rachel. And to Claire for commissioning me for the project. Also to my fabulous assistant on the day Jonny for his patience and creative input.

Sainsburys ‘Live well for less’ Magazine

I was hired to photograph some canapés for the December issue of 'Live well for less' magazine. The clients loved the images so much that they ended up using them over more pages than were initially planned. Here are my favourite ones-

‘Who said not to play with your food’ Part One

I decided to approach a creative personal project on soup in a slightly different way. I asked myself, how do I show soup other than in a bowl or pan? I wanted to explore taking the ingredients out of their final context. So, influenced by the renaissance paintings of food between the 14th & 18th Century, and with the help of the fabulous Davina, I made soup ingredients into floral inspired displays. Although the images may appear effortless, the bouquets were very difficult to structure. A massive thank you to Davina Perkins for her fabulous prop styling and art direction. Not to mention getting stuck in with helping to create the bouquets. Here are the final images-

Old El Paso

I recently did a shoot for Old El Paso with the agency Ogilvy & Mather UK. It was a 3 day shoot where we took seasonal photos for them to use across their social media and in print. Only a few of the images have been released so far, as the shoot was seasonal there will be more to follow!

Asda cakes

I was recently commissioned by VCCP to shoot a selection of celebration cakes for Asda. This was a technical shoot for the digital department, where the final outcome was a series of interactive banners. The main focus for the shoot was the pinata cake, where I took a series of images that were finally stitched together to make an animation showing the excitement of when the cake is cut. Here's a selection of the images-

The Stag, Hampstead

Today I went to take some photos at a pub called ‘The Stag’ on Hampstead Heath. Their new menu is looking fantastic!!! To find out more information about ‘The Stag’, please take a look at their website- www.thestaghampstead.com/

Gnocchi

I couple of weeks ago I did some tests with the lovely food stylist, Lottie Covell. We decided to base our shoot on some Donna Hay Gnocchi Recipes. We started to shoot by doing some steps: These steps produced a beautiful Mushroom Gnocchi in a cream sauce: We also made some beetroot Gnocchi served in a pesto sauce:

The Forgotten Feast

On Thursday Evening I was lucky enough to be involved in The Forgotten feast @ Fleet River Bakery, with eco chef Tom Hunt. It was a FoodCycle event to raise awareness of the amount of food waste in the UK. It was a ticketed event where all money went to the charity FoodCycle. All the food served was as a result of food donations for the event- Surplus food mixed with the creative ideas of Tom Hunt, provided the guests with a very interesting and delicious menu. As the guests arrived they were served an arrival drink and canapes: Tom then gave a small presentation to let everyone know why the event was taking place and what was on the menu: As the guests got comfy, a starter was prepared of Forage wild salad with Mackerel escabeche and pickled carrots: The main course was a selection of tapas style plates; Rolled Pig’s head Porchetta, Home salted Pollock & Sole, Roasted red peppers with capers and balsamic vinegar, Ovale Tomatoes with salsa verde, Roasted Carrots with cumin and parsley, Grilled courgettes and radicchio with sesame seeds, and Cleo the sourdough bread. It was delicious!! Dessert was a Chocolate Torte with fruit […]
