Kraken Rum

Over the last couple of weeks I have been doing some drink tests (Photographing, not drinking!!). I decided to base my project on Kraken Rum as it’s my favourite. I wanted to give my shots the feel that they had been photographed on a ship, so I spent a lot of time selected my props and lighting each shot. I am really pleased with the final results. On the Kraken rum’s website (http://www.krakenrum.com/), they have a list of Kraken based rums. I selected a few of them to photograph: This one is ‘The Kraken Cider’. Contains 1 part Kraken, 2.5 parts Apple Cider, & then garnished with a cinnamon stick. “The Kraken Black’ Contains: 2 parts Kraken, 1 Part Kahlua, then fill with Guinness ‘The Perfect Storm’ Contains: 1 part Kraken & 2 parts Ginger Beer ‘The Kraken Coffee’ Contains: 2 parts Kraken, 1 part Baileys, 1 part Kahlua, Hot coffee & whipped cream (Amazing!!!) ‘The Black Mojito’ Contains: 1 part Kraken & 1 part Soda. Muddle with Syrup, Lime, Ginger and Mint. I am really happy with the results of this test shoot. I think my favourite cocktail shot has to ‘The Kraken Coffee’. I think it looks fab […]

Gnocchi

I couple of weeks ago I did some tests with the lovely food stylist, Lottie Covell. We decided to base our shoot on some Donna Hay Gnocchi Recipes. We started to shoot by doing some steps: These steps produced a beautiful Mushroom Gnocchi in a cream sauce: We also made some beetroot Gnocchi served in a pesto sauce:

The Forgotten Feast

On Thursday Evening I was lucky enough to be involved in The Forgotten feast @ Fleet River Bakery, with eco chef Tom Hunt. It was a FoodCycle event to raise awareness of the amount of food waste in the UK. It was a ticketed event where all money went to the charity FoodCycle. All the food served was as a result of food donations for the event- Surplus food mixed with the creative ideas of Tom Hunt, provided the guests with a very interesting and delicious menu. As the guests arrived they were served an arrival drink and canapes: Tom then gave a small presentation to let everyone know why the event was taking place and what was on the menu: As the guests got comfy, a starter was prepared of Forage wild salad with Mackerel escabeche and pickled carrots: The main course was a selection of tapas style plates; Rolled Pig’s head Porchetta, Home salted Pollock & Sole, Roasted red peppers with capers and balsamic vinegar, Ovale Tomatoes with salsa verde, Roasted Carrots with cumin and parsley, Grilled courgettes and radicchio with sesame seeds, and Cleo the sourdough bread. It was delicious!! Dessert was a Chocolate Torte with fruit […]

New Test Images

Although the sun has been shining today, I decided to stay indoors and do a few more test images. I made a mean Salsa and Guacamole last week when we had friends round for tea, so I decided to base this shoot on Mexican dips. Here are my favourite 4 images from today:
